Melinda Kota, National Educator for John Paul Mitchell systems, wanted to create a fun, relaxing environment for stylists and salon guests. Studio MK is a home for stylists who have a passion for continuing education. Melinda provides up to date education monthly for each stylist. With our passion for education, we deliver consistency, always making your hair look and feel its best.

Melinda Kota

Melinda Kota is a National Educator for John Paul Mitchell Systems, a WV native, wife and mother of two, Melinda understands the busy lifestyles of others. Through her passion for cutting and coloring she enjoys getting to know each guest and creating styles which work for them.

"I love getting to know each guest that walks through our doors and loving the smiles on their faces when they look in the mirror at their new cut,color or style," Melinda says. "I believe education is the foundation to a good stylist. This is a fast paced, ever-changing industry. I feel it is important to maintain solid knowledge on what is current."

"Being an educator for Paul Mitchell, I have been given the opportunity to not only give back to other stylists but to my guests as well."

With several years of experience behind the chair and teaching, she personally trains each Studio MK stylist. "Our staff delivers consistent results every time. We believe that quality should come before quantity."

Nicole Lasky

Nicole grew up in L.A. and spent a number of years in Las Vegas before bringing her love of the industry to WV. 

"I love the look on a guest's face when you give them a look they thought they could never have," she says. "This industry allows me the opportunity to express my creativity while making others feel better about themselves."

Carleigh Phillips

Carleigh is an Elkins native. She has recently moved back to the area to pursue a career in the industry.

"After my first day of cosmetology school, I knew I had found my career path. I feel that when we look good, we feel good. The idea of assisting others with this is more than rewarding. Love what you do, do what you love."
